We will be hosting Ameet Ghasi, one of England’s strongest Grandmasters, on Saturday 4 July. Ameet will give a simultaneous display against 20 of our best young players, on our live boards. Ameet, originally from Birmingham. became British Rapidplay Champion in 2000 (jointly with Richmond Junior’s alumnus, Aaron Summerscale), at the age of 13, but then stepped away from chess for a period to focus on his education and early career. From 2011, he returned to chess, became an International Master in 2021, and achieved his final Grandmaster norm and the title at the Norwegian tournament, Fagernes, in October 2024. He currently lives in Teddington.
The simultaneous display will start at 14:00 and should finish by 17:00.
