Richmond Juniors will be hosting an ECF Arbiters course on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th, with the ECF Arbiters Exam on the afternoon of Saturday 11th. An introductory course in chess technology for arbiters will follow on Sunday 12th. The course will run from 10:00 to 16:00 each day.
The lecturers will be International Arbiters Alan Atkinson and Paul McKeown.
Passing the ECF Arbiters Exam on the Saturday will make you an ECF Level 1 Arbiter. We encourage parents and students aged 14 and above to take part. Richmond Juniors can later give you practical opportunities to gain Level 2 norms for your further development.
The course in chess technology for arbiters will introduce the setting and correction of chess clocks (DGT EasyPlus, 2010, 2500, 3000 and Echo), Swiss Manager, DGT Live Boards, ECF LMS, pgn handling and rating submission to the ECF and to FIDE, to a level where the user can expect to usefully help in tournaments lead by a more senior arbiter.
